Curating Indigeneity is a curatorial practice committed to centering Indigenous voices within the museum field. I partner with tribal nations, art museums, and Indigenous-run organizations to champion artists and creative thinkers who are redefining art, culture, design, and hospitality throughout Indian Country. With extensive experience in the museum field, I work alongside curatorial departments to help institutions articulate their missions with integrity, intention, and lasting impact.
My practice is grounded in cross-disciplinary collaboration, building partnerships and programs that resonate at local, intertribal, and global levels.
Through this practice, museums gain access to an expansive network of Indigenous artists, scholars, and communities, deepening audience engagement and ensuring that Indigenous stories are not only heard, but honoured.
Curating Indigeneity was founded by Tahnee Ahtone on the sovereign land of the "Zotone" in Mountain View, OK. I invite tribal nations and art museums to collaborate in building a more equitable, inclusive, and culturally grounded future for the field.
