Tahnee Ahtone

Tahnee Ahtone is a museum director, curator, and scholar of Material Cultural Art and Textiles. 


Ahtone is a leading authority in museum practice for Native American art museum management, with over a twenty-plus-year career in museums, galleries, and project spaces across the United States, Canada, and Europe. She is the Curator of Native American Art and the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO. As a writer, she contributes to the First American Art Magazine, American Indian Culture and Research Journal, and Hyperallergic. Ahtone was honored by the Oklahoma Museum Association with the 2019 Service to the Museum Profession Award. She served as a 2020 Association for Art Museum Curators Mentorship Participant and was a 2021 Center for Curatorial Leadership Fellowship.
